The Background and Challenge

Facebook’s Instant Experiences (IX) allow advertisers to combine videos and photos, carousels, featuring a variety of overlays, and more, all within a single ad that is optimized for mobile. Facebook provides pre-made templates for these ads, but StitcherAds offers Enhanced Digital Catalogs that are optimized to further boost engagement and sales from IX ads. For their Black Friday campaign, electronics retailer AO.com wanted to test standard Facebook IX ads against StitcherAds enhanced IX ads and to see which version would perform better. 

Solution

The StitcherAds Success team worked with AO.com throughout the full implementation of Enhanced Digital Catalogs—including feed creation, creative development, and IX execution on Facebook. During their Black Friday promotion, AO.com ran these enhanced ads simultaneously with standard Facebook IX ads (in separate ad sets) to compare performance between the two.

Results

The StitcherAds IX campaign outperformed the standard Facebook IX ads across view time, conversion rates (CVR), and average order value (AOV). In fact, StitcherAds’ Enhanced Digital Catalogs received 18% longer average view time and 42% higher CVR. They also saw +2% increase in AOV compared to the standard IX ads on Facebook.
